President Javier Milei to Attend Holocaust Day Ceremony

President Javier Milei will participate this Monday in the official event for International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires. This will be his first official activity following his return from an international tour in the United States, where he attended Donald Trump's inauguration, and Switzerland, where he participated in the Davos Forum.

Last year, Milei was present at the same ceremony and expressed: "Argentina does not remain silent in the face of Hamas terror" and demanded "the immediate release of all kidnapped civilians, including our 11 compatriots." He also highlighted the importance of the museum in shaping the present and future.

Milei's presence at the event comes amid controversy over his defense of businessman Elon Musk, after Musk made a salute with his arm extended during Trump's inauguration ceremony, a gesture criticized by some for its Nazi connotations.

In response to the criticism, Milei backed Musk with a message on his social media titled "Nazi my ass." This year, the president also referred to the agreement between the terrorist group and Israel, stating: "The Holocaust and the Nazis are not something of the past. Leftist sons of bitches tremble."

Milei continued to defend Elon Musk, whom he considers one of the most important men in history and a defender of freedom. He lashed out at the "international progressives" for the accusations and warned that he will stand up for freedom, with the duty to prevent events like those that occurred in October from happening again.
